The PagBank, one of the leading digital banks in Brazil, emphasizes that the Pix functionality through NFC technology has been enabled on its payment terminals. Available on the digital bank’s POS machines, the feature makes the payment experience more agile and efficient, as now PagBank customers can link their account to a wallet and make payments directly from the available balance.
“Our goal is to provide more agile and efficient financial solutions for our customers. With this innovative technology, we make Pix a more dynamic and frictionless payment method,” says Alexandre Magnani, PagBank’s CEO. “The feature adds speed to sales and ensures security in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Bank,” he adds.
The CEO also points out that the novelty benefits both consumers, who can now make faster payments, and merchants, who seek to streamline their receivables management. “In the PagBank ecosystem, Pix by QR Code on POS machines already offered advantages such as sales receipts and unified reconciliation. With the introduction of Pix by proximity, this experience becomes even more efficient, encouraging quick and secure payments,” he concludes.
To use the new feature, the merchant must select the Pix payment option on the PagBank POS terminal. Then, the customer brings the smartphone close to the terminal, checks the amount, and confirms the transaction with the password or biometrics of the digital wallet. The entire process is quick and simple, following the rules of the Central Bank and digital wallets, with a limit of R$ 500 per transaction.
Both modalities – Pix via QR Code and Pix by proximity – are available for free in the first month for PagBank merchants, with zero fees and instant receipt. This innovation represents an important step in the modernization and digitalization of payments, consolidating PagBank as a cutting-edge digital bank. The release for all eligible models will be completed by the first half of March.
One of the largest digital banks in the country in terms of customers, PagBank offers tools for in-person and online sales, a complete digital account for individuals and legal entities, as well as functionalities that contribute to financial management, such as Payroll. In PagBank, the credit card has a guaranteed limit and investments become a limit for the card itself, enhancing customer profits, as well as generating cashback on the invoice. In PagBank, those with active and inactive balances in the FGTS can request advances, as well as being possible to contract INSS Payroll for retirees and pensioners directly through the PagBank app.
