Wellhub, the corporate wellness platform that offers employees full subscriptions with the best partners in fitness, mindfulness, therapy, nutrition, and sleep, announces today that it has reached a significant growth milestone: 500 million check-ins and three million subscribers since its founding in 2012. This achievement highlights the growing recognition among companies of the importance of offering comprehensive wellness benefits to their workforce.
With 93% of employees stating that they value well-being as much as their salary, companies are increasingly investing in their people and choosing Wellhub as their trusted partner for well-being benefits. Wellhub took ten years to reach its first 100 million check-ins, but in the last year, employee check-ins on the platform doubled from 250 million to 500 million. Any activity a user performs on the Wellhub platform, such as attending a yoga class, visiting a local gym, or taking an online class via a partner app, is considered a check-in. The significant growth in subscribers and user check-ins drove an average annual growth rate of over 75% in payments to partners from 2021 to 2024, highlighting Wellhub's effectiveness in promoting adoption and engagement.
"12 years ago, we started a mission to empower all companies to become wellness companies, where employees can connect with well-being every day. Today, with 500 million check-ins and three million subscribers, we can see the impact of this mission in full force. Companies are investing in their most valuable asset – people – to improve both employee health and business performance," says Priscila Siqueira, leader of Wellhub in Brazil. Thank you to our corporate clients, our well-being partners, our employees, and the millions of Wellhub subscribers around the world. You inspire us to continue innovating, ensuring that our platform evolves to meet the individual needs of an increasingly diverse workforce.
Nearly 60,000 wellness partners grow with Wellhub
Wellhub not only supports the global workforce but also operates a mutually beneficial ecosystem. In addition to improving employee well-being and company performance, Wellhub introduces new clients to its network of partners, with 90% of its members being new students for the gyms they visit and the apps they use.
This generates additional revenue for Wellhub partners, who are increasingly choosing the corporate wellness platform to help drive their growth. In 2024, more than 8,000 new gyms, studios, and apps joined the Wellhub network, 3,500 of them in Brazil, including apps like Apple Fitness+, FitDance, Tembici, and Utreino, as well as the most popular gyms and studios in the country, such as Bodytech, Cia Athletica, Pure Pilates, Rede Gaviões, 26 Fit, Body Coach, Contorno do Corpo, Corpo e Saúde, Hammer, Live, Max Forma, Rede Pratique, Redfit Academia, Usina do Corpo, among many others.
Since Wellhub does not own gyms or studios, it does not compete with its partners; instead, it focuses exclusively on offering holistic wellness benefits for companies and their employees. In 2024, Wellhub's exclusive partners received additional investments and grew 20% faster than those who were not exclusive.
“Wellhub identified a real market need and plays a critical role in helping corporate partners and their global employee bases prioritize health and well-being. This significant growth milestone demonstrates the platform's impact,” said Alex Crisses, Chief Global Sourcing Officer for New Investments and Co-Head of Emerging Growth at General Atlantic. We are proud to serve as a long-term investment partner for Wellhub and look forward to continuing to support the platform's vision of promoting access to comprehensive wellness benefits through technology.
“At the end of the day, this achievement isn’t just about numbers; it’s about real people transforming their lives, whether it’s a corporate yoga challenge that sparked a new passion for fitness, a meditation session that helped someone manage stress, or a nutrition program that encouraged healthier eating. We look forward to continuing to innovate on our platform to serve our corporate clients, their employees, and our wellness partners,” concludes Wellhub’s Priscila Siqueira.
