Fixed value for Pix fee reduces processing costs for establishments by up to 50%

Despite the recent controversy about the possibility of the government creating a tax on PIX, the reality is that the PIX fee has been authorized by the Central Bank since 2020 (Resolution No. 30/2020) and usually takes significant percentages of merchants and service providers' profits. In order to reduce this cost related to the processing of these transactions, the trend of fixing the amount to be paid per operation instead of linking the fee to a percentage of the sale begins to consolidate.

This is the opportunity offered by 'RAPIDINHA PIX EDAN', the POS machine consisting of a solution developed by EDAN Finance Group that has just entered the market. The equipment created by the fintech sets the value of each instant payment transaction at R$ 0.50, making the process much more economical, as well as streamlining the reconciliation of operations for merchants and service providers.

The Co-Founder & CEO of EDAN Finance Group, Eduardo Sgobbi, explains that by setting the cost per transaction at only R$ 0.50, RAPIDINHA PIX offers an undeniably cheaper processing option to the market. "This becomes clear if we imagine a business that today pays 1% on each sale. In the case of making a thousand sales in a month of R$ 100.00 each, it will pay R$ 1,000.00 in fees. But if it uses the 'RAPIDINHA PIX EDAN,' it will pay R$ 500.00, that is, it will save 50%," he explains.

The executive states that in addition to advancing in the direction of this trend, “RAPIDINHA PIX” is positioned at the forefront of a new generation of machines with solutions designed with the objective of offering the market the full benefits made possible by the innovations brought by Pix.

In this sense, he mentions other features of the equipment, which is the possibility of using Pix to enable the store to facilitate cash withdrawals for its customers at the checkout. To do this, just click on the 'Pix Withdrawal' option on the machine. The merchant must provide the amount requested by the customer without additional costs as determined by the Central Bank and deliver the requested amount in cash; their earnings will be paid by the customer's Financial Institution and credited to the establishment's account.

“This represents a direct increase in revenue from the provision of services and security at the location by removing physical cash from the establishment,” he says.

Eduardo Sgobbi highlights that in 2024, Brazil reached approximately 64 billion PIX transactions, totaling around R$ 26.4 trillion. "At EDAN, with the launch of 'RAPIDINHA PIX,' we estimate to reach around 13 million transactions per month by 2025, with an average ticket of R$ 50.00, that is, a monthly volume of R$ 650 million, which will amount to R$ 7.8 billion in the year," he says.

It also highlights the evolution that the equipment represents in terms of usability and management for retailers. "The seller has confirmation of the payment made by the customer at the moment the money is credited to the establishment's account, without needing to ask them to show the receipt on their phone, send it via WhatsApp, or wait for confirmation from their Finance Department," he emphasizes.

Additionally, the recipient can also view the statement of all transactions that took place in their "RAPIDINHA PIX EDAN." "The store's finance team can monitor in real-time all payments made on the 'RAPIDINHA PIX EDAN' machines across various stores, the credit made to their account, and can also reconcile with the bank statement, all in a quick, reliable, and highly technological manner," he explains.

According to him, there are approximately 4.4 million commercial establishments in Brazil, and EDAN Finance Group's goal is to reach 1% of this base in the next 3 years, that is, about 44,000 establishments. "In the long term, we plan to place at least three machines in each establishment, that is, 132,000 RAPIDINHAS PIX EDAN in circulation. We strongly believe in PIX as a payment method, not only in Brazil but also for Brazilians abroad," he concludes.
