According to the Edtech Report 2024, Brazil is a leader in the Edtech market in Latin America and, since the foundation, the startup AMentoria Educação has been standing out as one of the most promising in the segment, attracting the attention of investors and accelerators
The company, that emerged in 2019 with a group of in-person simulation practice, reached R$ 3 million in revenue by June 2024, and has an even greater expansion expectation for 2025, with an expected increase in enrollments and triple the revenue
The accelerated growth of AMentoria began in 2020, when the corporation, already focused on online operations, generated R$ 100 thousand with 300 students and only 10 mentors. From there, the climb was quick: in 2021, without attracting external investments, a startup jumped to 900 students, billing R$ 700 thousand. With a structure of 60 mentors, the customer base tripled and revenue was multiplied by seven times. The following year, AMentoria attracted R$ 175 thousand in investments, closing 2022 with 1.300 enrollments and a revenue of R$ 1,7 million
Even with robust expansion, the strategy for 2023 was to consolidate internal processes, which resulted in an increase in margin per student, with 1.600 enrollments and R$ 2,8 million in revenue. The team of mentors reached 100, and the focus on personalized service and individual methodology has remained a competitive differentiator for the company
A new model of education
With 25 thousand hours of individual mentoring offered to more than five thousand students, Mentoring has revolutionized the way students prepare for college entrance exams. Inspired by the collaborative model of platforms like Uber, the edtech uses the productive capacity of students approved in Medicine to guide and mentor those who are seeking approval
Today, there are more than 120 mentors available to provide support
"Our goal is to transform education", offering a more efficient and personalized preparation for the challenges of the entrance exam. We believe that each student is unique and deserves a tailored study plan, highlights Pedro Gesteira, CEO of AMentoria
This approach has already generated significant results, like at the Diocesan College Santa Luzia, in Mossoró (RN), that saw the number of approved students in Medicine grow by 40% in 2023, after the implementation of the startup's mentoring system
Preparing for climbing
Now, this year, the company focuses on strengthening operations and preparing the ground for an even greater expansion. With the amount already invoiced, the expectation is that, by the end of 2024, the revenue reaches R$ 5 million. In 2025, the goal is to enter a scaling phase, accompanying the start of the enrollment cycle for the 2026 school year
