Corporate tourism in Brazil celebrates the end of 2024 with impressive numbers: according to the latest survey of the sector carried out in October by FecomercioSP, In partnership with the Latin American Association of Event Management and Corporate Travel (Alagev), the revenue reached R$130 billion. Year-to-date, compared to the same period in 2023, the growth was 5.3%, the highest percentage in the historical series started in 2011.
Unlike leisure tourism, corporate tourism is focused on efficiency. According to Beatriz Oliveira, founder and CEO of Pervoy Turismo, a travel agency specializing in personalized trips, corporate travel needs to be organized quickly, efficiently, and centrally.
“The agency must offer tools and resources that streamline the process and minimize the time spent by employees organizing the trip. We must always be aware of any unforeseen events that may occur, especially when it comes to changes in flight schedules. Readiness and flexibility are very important at this time,” Beatriz points out.
The agency handles all the organization of the trip, down to the smallest details, with 24-hour support – including post-trip. At the end of the trip, the company's HR receives a complete report with all expenses, facilitating the employees' reimbursement process. For Beatriz, the essential is to have a flexible plan that offers employees options for flights, accommodation, and transportation, tailored to their preferences and schedules, making the trip more comfortable and less tiring.
The expert also points out a trend that has been growing and that promises to become established in 2025 in modern companies: the so-calledblazer, which is the trip that combines business and leisure. "The millennial generation (people born between 1981 and 1995), in particular, values experience and seeks a balance between professional and personal life. This change in behavior has driven companies to rethink their corporate travel policies, including leisure activities in business itineraries," says Beatriz.
According to her, with the resumption of in-person work after the pandemic experienced worldwide between 2020 and 2023, this trend is driven by the pursuit of a better quality of life and the need to reconcile professional and personal demands. In addition to increasing employee satisfaction, theblazerguarantees their well-being, as they take advantage of their work trip to learn more about the local culture.”
In 2024, the most requested destinations for corporate tourism at Pervoy Turismo were: Bahia, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Colombia, USA and Mozambique.
