Based on the need to develop knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, StartSe launches theIA Brazil Movement. The program will encompass several initiatives and partnerships to enhance technology knowledge among workers and companies, offering afree course with the aim of training 1 million Brazilians, accelerating the country's awareness, literacy, and critical thinking regarding AI. A recent study by the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) titled “Work scaled up for an automated, AI-driven world, indicates that 40% of the global workforce will need to reskill as a result of AI and automation implementation in the next three years, revealing that the global skills gap is already a reality. According to theWorld BankThere are 3.4 billion people in the active global workforce, which means that approximately 1.4 billion people will likely need retraining in the short term.
"We are facing a brutal technological transformation that will reshape the way we live, relate, and work. This is the most powerful social change tool we have seen to date. The demand for skilled professionals will grow exponentially, and Brazil can stand out in this scenario," says Junior Borneli, CEO of StartSe. "Then, we want to join the small list of countries with 1% of the population already trained in Artificial Intelligence. It is a process that involves all levels, from workers to leaders of companies of all sizes," he adds.
According to Flávia Freitas, leader of Corporate Social Responsibility at IBM Latin America, the IA Brasil Movement aligns with IBM's global commitment to train 30 million people in new technology-related skills for free by 2030. We believe that collaboration between companies and organizations to make education more accessible is essential to promote a more prepared society with more opportunities for future technological advancements. Through IBM SkillsBuild and our work with StartSe, we will help students and workers thrive as the job market evolves.
The courseAI for AllIt will be made available online and completely free of charge, with accessible language and an unprecedented teaching model to facilitate understanding for people of any background or age. Divided into modules, the learning path includes an introduction to the subject, AI fundamentals, practical examples, and at the end, the development of AI solutions, as well as experience sharing with experts.
Borneli also emphasizes that, beyond professional training, the IA Brasil Movement aims to bring meaningful discussions to society, implementing a culture of innovation and democratic evolution. "The more people and companies join the Movement, the further we can position Brazil and its intellectual potential in this technological fold," concludes the CEO.
"Artificial intelligence is more than a trend: it is a reality that redefines careers and creates new professions. Movements that democratize access to AI and promote the conscious use of these tools play a crucial role in preparing this generation for the challenges and opportunities of the future," says Jessica Rangel, Product Director at Junior Achievement Brazil.
