The Union of Cargo Transportation and Logistics Companies in Rio Grande do Sul (SETCERGS) held, this Thursday (11/28), the election for the new board of directors that will lead the organization in the 2025-2026 biennium. The election took place in a hybrid format, allowing in-person voting at the union headquarters in Porto Alegre and also online from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In a single ballot, the members elected businessman Delmar Albarello, from Troca Logística, as the new president. The management will begin on January 1, 2025, with the ceremonial inauguration on a date to be determined.
Delmar Albarello, a professional with a long career in the logistics sector and current effective director of SETCERGS, will assume leadership with the purpose of intensifying dialogue with public and private entities and implementing the entity's new Statute.
“We will be committed to facing challenges guided by ethics and transparency. The focus will be on strengthening partnerships with public and private entities and, above all, listening to our members. We will work hard on the new Statute, ensuring that it is a tool to strengthen and modernize the sector. In addition, we will focus on enhancing and improving the image of cargo transportation, continuing the excellent management carried out by Mr. Sérgio Gabardo,” declared the president-elect.
Albarello is a founding partner of Troca Logística, current director of SETCERGS, president of the Porto Seco Business Center and vice president of the Porto Alegre Food Bank.
The current presidency, led by Sérgio Mário Gabardo, from Transportes Gabardo, ends its term at the end of this year, after two administrations marked by significant advances for the sector such as the growth of TranspoSul, implementation of important programs such as the SETCERGS Road Safety Program, the newSETCERGS ESG Journey Certificationand support actions for those in greatest need implemented by the Social Action Center of the Union. He was also a key figure in the largest logistical operation in the state of Rio Grande do Sul with local and associated transporters during the flood, delivering donations to many communities in the state's greatest environmental disaster.
