The Central Bank revealed this Monday that Pix, the instant payment system, set a new daily transaction record last Friday, the 5th. According to the institution, an impressive 224.2 million transactions were recorded in just 24 hours, surpassing the previous mark of 206.8 million, reached on June 7 of this year.
In addition to the number of transactions, the total amount processed by Pix also reached a historic level for a single day: R$ 119.4 billion. This amount demonstrates the growing adoption and confidence of Brazilians in this payment method.
In an official statement, the Central Bank highlighted the relevance of Pix as a public digital infrastructure, capable of promoting financial inclusion, fostering innovation and boosting competition in the payment services sector in Brazil.
