Platform arrives in Brazil to combat fake brands in e-commerce

PulpouIt arrives at the right time, as Brazil has been facing a significant increase in illegally sold products in the country. "These products may even be original, but they often entered Brazil illegally and are failing to pay taxes as well as provide the necessary guarantees to consumers," comments Gabriel Paqualini, the platform's creator.

According to the Brazilian Association of Electrical and Electronic Industry (Abinee), about 90% of smuggled cell phones are sold through marketplaces, with prices 38% below those sold in the official market. It is precisely in this market that Pulpou begins to operate here, developing strategies to remove infringers and monitoring all sales daily, whether through tracking information about the products, photo accuracy, or compiling networks of sellers who are often the same and therefore should be treated as one when requesting removal.

As the system is highly automated, Pulpou gives brands the speed to quickly and document the activities of those who are not in compliance with the company's practices and, therefore, do not represent it.

Last year ended with a total of 6.2 million irregular devices in Brazil. For 2024, Abinee estimates that the federal government will lose approximately R$ 4 billion in revenue due to tax evasion.

“We will be notEcommerce ForumNext week (from July 31 to August 2 at the Anhembi District in São Paulo), showcasing the new features of our platform, which is increasingly used by companies in Latin America and Europe," concludes Pasqualini.
