The Automatic Pix, a new mode launched by the Central Bank a few weeks ago, begins to operate this Monday (16). The feature was created to facilitate the payment of recurring expenses, such as tuition fees, condominium fees, subscriptions, health plans, and utility bills. For small businesses that want to receive payments in this format, it is necessary to contract the service with financial institutions. For the consumer, the use is free.
Depending on the bank, enrollment in the service by entrepreneurs is available through digital channels or branches. The cost of the service is provided at the time of subscription. To prevent scams, only companies that have been active for more than six months can offer Automatic Pix as a payment method to their customers.
According to Sebrae research, PIX is the preferred method for nearly half of the country's micro-entrepreneurs (48%). Additionally, 97% of entrepreneurs accept PIX as a form of payment. Of all the resources moved in product sales, this model already accounts for 51% or more of companies' revenue. It is a means that has already been consolidated. Technology is a concept that is irreversible, and small businesses use it to multiply opportunities and increase job creation, says Sebrae president Décio Lima.
Compared to automatic debit, the new Pix modality allows the company, upon contracting the service, to automatically receive funds from clients of any financial institution. In the case of automatic debit, it is necessary to establish an agreement with each bank, which makes the process difficult for small businesses.
According to the 9th edition of Sebrae's Small Business Pulse survey, 94% of entrepreneurs already use Pix as a payment method, with 81% considering it the most important method for daily financial transactions. Among the benefits cited by small business owners, the payment method stands out for its speed (89%), cost reduction (76%), ease of reconciliation (63%), and decrease in default rates (54%).
Usage
"Pix also acts as a catalyst for the digitization of small businesses, which now have access to a low-cost receiving solution, easy integration, and immediate settlement. This allows micro and small businesses to compete on equal footing with large establishments in terms of agility and modernity in payments," emphasized the Sebrae president.
