Online sales in tourism have been prominent, according to the Report on E-commerce Sectors in Brazil. Travel and Accommodation was the sector that grew the most among the 18 segments evaluated, with an increase of 6,4%. The growth was driven mainly by the increase in demand for accommodation and air transport services. The tourism sector as a whole has been experiencing growth, according to IBGE.In October 2024, the index of tourist activities grew 4,7% compared to September, second consecutive positive result, with an accumulated gain of 5,2%. The sector was benefited precisely by the improvement in the economic situation, from the pent-up demand due to the pandemic, stimulating consumers' search for leisure and tourism.
