KingHost, a Software as a Service (SaaS) company belonging to LWSA, announced the launch of a new cybersecurity tool designed to protect applications and websites against cyberattacks. The Web Application Firewall (WAF) is now available for KingHost Hosting, Cloud, and VPS clients and will be released soon to the general public.
In the first six months of 2024, the tool blocked approximately 7.5 million suspicious events and detected about 9.9 million suspicious activities on clients' websites and applications. According to the 2022 Sitelock Report, websites receive 5.5 times more bot traffic than human users, with 60% of this traffic being malicious.
“It is an essential tool for any business with an online presence, capable of protecting websites and applications against hacks, data theft, fraud and other digital crimes that are common today,” says Lívia Lampert, executive manager at KingHost.
The WAF analyzes the traffic between users and web servers, identifying suspicious patterns and malicious behaviors to prevent unauthorized data exposure. "82% of requests that reach websites are suspicious activities. When these attacks occur on the server, KingHost controls, protects, and mitigates the impacts. When they are on websites, applications, or APIs, the WAF blocks and prevents damage," explains Lívia.
The tool can be customized according to the specific needs of each application, offering benefits such as protection against attacks, vulnerability mitigation, real-time threat detection, flexible customization, data loss prevention, improved security standards, response to emerging threats, protection against botnets and data scraping attacks, in addition to improving application performance.
