Havan issues a warning to the population about a new scam circulating on social media that has already generated hundreds of reports in the first days of June. Criminals are using the image of businessman Luciano Hang and the 39 years of the retailer to carry out frauds.
The scam offers a supposed promotion of security cameras, in the "buy one, get one" model. To make the fraud more convincing, scammers use Artificial Intelligence to clone Luciano Hang's voice and generate fake videos.
However, there are clear signs that it is a scam. One of them is that, in the audio, the word Havan is incorrectly pronounced as "Ravan". Furthermore, the voice does not match that of the businessman, and the mouth movements in the videos do not synchronize with what is being said.
As the saying goes: when the gift is too much, even the saint suspects. Always be wary of outrageous promotions. Check if this information is really on our official channels. Pay attention to the details. No one is immune to scams, warns Luciano Hang.
The businessman emphasizes that, unfortunately, this type of crime has become increasingly sophisticated with the use of Artificial Intelligence. "We have taken all appropriate legal measures and have already obtained court decisions against platforms like Google and Meta for the removal of false content. Even so, scams continue to emerge, requiring constant attention from the population," he emphasizes.
