Greentech Zaya Democratizes Access to Environmental Impact Information in Brazil

With an eye on the growing sustainability market in Brazil, Zaya, a greentech founded in 2023, is revolutionizing access to environmental impact information for organizations of all sizes.

A study by Ipea, which mapped activities focused on the environment between 2000 and 2017, revealed that more than 70% of corporations do not carry out innovation initiatives focused on sustainability. Zaya emerges to change this scenario, offering solutions that uncomplicate and democratize the use of environmental data.

Zaya founder Isabela Basso brought her experience from Braskem's sustainability team to create the startup.After successful pilot testing with commercial partners, Zaya received investment from Oxygea, becoming an independent company with a product of its own and already serving its first customers, including corporations, consultancies and industries.

Zaya has developed software that performs environmental calculations in companies, providing tools that facilitate the assessment of the impact of activities. “Our goal is to offer tools so that all companies, regardless of size, can access environmental impact indicators.We want to show how sustainability data can be better used to generate strategic direction and financial opportunities”, explains Isabela Basso.

Comprehensive Solutions

The startup offers three main modules: Greenhouse Gas Inventory, Product Carbon Footprint and Life Cycle Assessment.The Greenhouse Gas Inventory calculates the company's gas emissions, divided into scopes 1, 2 and 3. The Product Carbon Footprint assesses the impact of each product from the extraction of raw material to its end of life. The Life Cycle Assessment provides a complete environmental footprint of the products, including water consumption and land use analyses, as well as greenhouse gas emissions.

Otavio Dutra, co-founder of Zaya, highlights the importance of usability and user experience.“All data are presented in easy-to-use interfaces with easy-to-understand results. Our principle is to democratize the understanding of information, simplifying deliveries so that managers and decision makers can understand the analysis without requiring in-depth technical knowledge”, explains Dutra.
