Medication management: Portuguese startup hopes to reach more than 100,000 users in Brazil

Terah, a Portuguese startup founded in October 2022, is preparing for a significant expansion in Brazil with the support of FHE Ventures, which promises to accelerate the company's growth in the country. The innovative company developed a unique solution in the world for comprehensive medication management and consumer guidance through interactive and digitized leaflets, raising the question about the existence of paper leaflets, which increase the size and weight of the box and, therefore, the value of the medication, in addition to being a pollutant after the disposal of the box and the medication. In addition to supporting expansion in Brazil, FHE Ventures also contributes to structuring the company in Portugal, not only providing support and strengthening the Terah team's experience but also optimizing the business by exploring new commercial horizons.

Both parties have high expectations for this partnership. FHE Ventures will be instrumental in Terah's growth process by providingknow-howand experience for the product maturation. Furthermore, FHE Ventures' commercial knowledge will be vital to conquering the market, with access to major pharmaceutical companies and pharmacy chains in Brazil," emphasizes Rafael Kenji, CEO of FHE Ventures.

Terah is the first comprehensive global solution for 360° medication management. The application allows users to receive detailed information, schedule reminders, and receive alerts. A startup identifies potential drug interactions and allows orders to be placed directly with pharmacies. THEcore businessTerah is among the functionalities offered to the end user, with pharmacies as paying clients through a fee on orders. "The initial objectives include optimizing the product, increasing its robustness, and improving performance, as well as implementing the expansion plan. The strategy involves launching a pilot project in a designated region, with the goal of eventually covering the entire Brazilian territory," explains João Mota, CEO of Terah.

The company is already working to implement its first round of investments. In an advanced acceleration phase in Brazil, the company believes it is the ideal time to start raising funds. So far, more than 150,000 euros have been invested, equivalent to R$ 800,000, in the development of the solution. By the end of 2024, Terah expects to be close to 100,000 users and have around 5,000 affiliated pharmacies. Currently, the startup has already established partnerships with around 450 pharmacies in Portugal.

"Terah stands out for offering end-to-end medication management, with features that go far beyond a simple alarm. The application allows for reading medication codes, providing detailed information, identifying drug interactions and therapeutic duplications, as well as facilitating medication orders directly from pharmacies," concludes João Mota.
