Gedanken announces platform to help companies measure ESG performance

Specialized in technology for supplier risk management,Thoughtsannounced a platform to help companies measure ESG performance. The startup's goal is to address one of the main sustainability challenges in the market, as more than 90% of large companies' carbon emissions originate in their supply chains, according to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) report.

Emissions classified as scope 3 include business operations from sources not owned or directly controlled by the organization, such as the supply chain, transportation, use, or disposal of products. Therefore, Gedanken created a unified platform that assesses, measures, and helps the entire supply chain to have more sustainable processes.

With over 200 clients, including names like Ambev, MRV, and Gerdau, Gedanken developed the platform based on a deep understanding of the needs of large companies, with active consultation and collaboration from consulting firms, academia, and these very large companies. The result is a unified platform that assesses supplier sustainability through more than 80 specific indicators, grouped into four pillars:care with environment, governance, social responsibility and impact of sustainable purchasing. Each pillar is based on reference methodologies, constantly improved through Councils with the participation of companies, academic institutions and partners.

With a revenue of R$ 10 million in 2023 (off the record), the startup plans to double that amount in 2024. Additionally, it also assists companies in the onboarding process of suppliers, risk management, homologation, and due diligence, helping to reduce the integration time of new business partners by up to 90% and mitigating risks related to forced labor, child labor, integrity, occupational safety, and reputation. These achievements are reflected in rapid growth and market impact, driven by the investment funding round carried out in 2021, led by Caravela and Abseed.
