Magie, a fintech that has been gaining prominence in the financial market, has taken an important step by integrating 10 banks into WhatsApp, allowing its users to make payments and transfers via PIX using account balances from different financial institutions. The new feature will be available starting next Monday (16), promising to offer a practical and secure solution for the end-of-year parties, without the need to access banking apps directly on the main phone.
With support from Meta and OpenAI resources, Magie has stood out for its innovation in its platform, which allows for simple and quick financial transactions through text, audio, or image commands. Since its launch in 2024, the fintech has already moved R$ 300 million and recently completed a funding round of R$ 28 million, led by the American investment fund Lux Capital, with participation also from the Brazilian fund Canary.
“Our intention is to make people’s lives easier and safer. Magie allows customers to uninstall banking apps from their cell phones and leave the house using only WhatsApp. And, of course, any transaction must be authenticated using a password, and users can also set a limit for PIX and other payments,” says Luiz Ramalho, CEO and founder of Magie.
Magie's proposal is to meet the needs of users seeking a quick way to make multiple daily payments while also ensuring greater security by avoiding the use of banking apps in public places. A fintech, which already implemented Open Finance technology in early December, expects a significant increase in the number of transactions during the holiday season, offering a solution that can transform the way Brazilians manage their finances in everyday life.
The ten banks that will be available in the new functionality are: Itaú, Nubank, C6 Bank, Santander, Bradesco, BTG, PicPay, XP, Banco Inter, Banco do Brasil and Mercado Pago.
A new feature will be enabled three days before the deactivation of WhatsApp's native payment feature. Despite this, Meta Brazil supports Magie's initiative by providing digital infrastructure and support for development in their app.
Magic is also increasingly investing in security. Today, for example, it already ensures that users' passwords are not recorded in WhatsApp conversations and uses robust protection systems to ensure the security of banking transactions. Soon, it will also integrate a facial recognition system.
“We are betting on the Brazilian public’s appetite for innovations in financial services, driven by the popularity of Pix. Combining advanced technology and a familiar interface, Magie positions itself as an efficient and secure alternative for everyday banking transactions,” adds Luiz Ramalho.
