ClickBus, a solutions platform for travelers and bus companies in the road sector, recorded a 33% growth in salestickets for Rock in Rio 2024 compared to the last year the event was held. According to the company, the road traffic on weekends heading to Rio de Janeiro during the festival exceeded Carnival and New Year's Eve.
Among the main origins of travel, the city of São Paulo stands out, accounting for more than 40% of the total sales volume during the period. The regions that grew the most towards the city of Rio de Janeiro were: Volta Redonda in Rio de Janeiro with 130% growth and Juiz de Fora in Minas Gerais with a 111% increase.
“Bus travel is a great option for consumers traveling to festivals, and online purchasing makes it much easier for passengers to organize and plan ahead. The sector has seen significant developments and today there are modern fleets equipped with special buses, on-board services and Wi-Fi access, a truly premium experience,” says Phillip Klien, CEO of ClickBus.
ClickBus invests in research and analysis of consumer profiles, and from the latest data it was possible to see that travelers look for road trips during the festival period to rest during the journey, due to the ease of purchasing through the app and the competitive price.
