THEBS2,Financial ecosystem aimed at the corporate public announces the acquisition ofVoucherpayplatform that allows Brazilians to make purchases abroad using Pix or credit card with installment payments in reais. The expectation is that the solution will move approximatelyR$ 100 million in transactions per year.
Created in 2019 by Brapago, a fintech in the payments sector, in partnership with BS2, Voucherpay meets the growing demand of Brazilian consumers who travel abroad or live near international borders, especially in the Ciudad del Este region in Paraguay. With the acquisition, BS2 now owns the technology, the operation, and the brand — the latter already registered previously by the bank itself.
The platform features an integrated system with BS2's Pix APIs and acquiring systems, allowing the Brazilian consumer to make payments as if they were in Brazil, even when receiving the product abroad. "We are enabling a smooth and localized shopping experience, even at foreign points of sale," he states.Carlos Eduardo de Andrade, Executive Director of Foreign Exchange at BS2.
This is not the first time BS2 has innovated in cross-border operations. In 2023, the bank was a pioneer and launched the solutionEasy Pay, offercross sellingofexchange and cash managementthat enables 24/7 international transactions. "Today, we master this end-to-end journey, and having Voucherpay in-house adds even more robustness to our operation," says the executive.
The management of Voucherpay will be handled by a multidisciplinary unit within the bank, involving areas such as foreign exchange, acquiring, and technology. According to Andrade, the acquisition represents a strategic bet on progressPix Internationaland in the expansion of financial products linked to exchange rates, acquiring, and receivables anticipation. Furthermore, the incorporation of the group's acquiring company into BS2's operation facilitated the consolidation of the operation.
Currently present in Paraguay and Europe, BS2 aims to expand the geographic reach of Voucherpay. The goal is to reach a monthly volume ofR$ 20 million in transactions in 2026For this, the bank plans to intensify the registration of international retailers and strengthen the distribution of the product in the market.
