A Bitso, Latin American company providing cryptocurrency-based financial services, announced today the appointment of Bárbara Espir as the new Country Manager for Brazil. This appointment marks a historic moment, because Espir becomes the first woman to lead a cryptocurrency company in the country
Espir, who previously held the position of VP of Legal Latam, she was the first Brazilian hired by Bitso in 2019. Your trajectory in the company includes the expansion to Argentina, Colombia and Brazil, in addition to participation in investment rounds and strategic partnerships

The appointment comes at a time of significant growth for Bitso in Brazil. In the first half of this year, the company recorded an 18% increase in its user base, overcoming 1,8 million people. In the business segment, Bitso Business tripled the number of active institutional clients in 2023
Espir takes on the mission of continuing the local expansion of the company and strengthening the Bitso Business segment, that provides payment infrastructure to international companies wishing to operate in the Brazilian market in a regulated manner and with connection to PIX
