In a significant step towards strengthening the digital asset market in Brazil, the Brazilian Association of Cryptoeconomics (ABcripto) and the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP) signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement last Wednesday (20) during Criptorama 2024. The goal is to promote joint educational actions, disseminate knowledge, and enhance the integration between the digital asset market and the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The agreement was formalized at the panel "Legal Transformation: Cryptoeconomics and the Future of Brazilian Justice," with the participation of Atalá Correia, a Judge at the Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories, Bernardo Srur, CEO of ABcripto, and Lorena Lessa, Prosecutor at the Public Ministry of the State of Goiás, who moderated the debate. "It is a movement that will continue to challenge the legal universe," said Correia.
Among the goals of the agreement, the creation of an electronic system to optimize the enforcement of judicial decisions involving cryptoassets is highlighted, as well as providing support for the accreditation of the Public Prosecutor's Office with virtual asset service providers (VASPs). The development of technical materials and the organization of workshops to disseminate best practices in the national and international markets are also planned.
"The agreement represents a significant step forward in building a safer and more transparent environment for the market. By joining forces with the Public Prosecutor's Office, we are creating tools that not only assist in complying with the legislation but also promote education and awareness about the sector's potential and challenges. It is a milestone for the development of the country's crypto economy," highlights Bernardo Srur, CEO of ABcripto.
The system to be developed and maintained by ABcripto will include modules for custody and settlement of digital assets, as well as functionalities for electronic processing of judicial orders. The initiative reinforces the entities' commitment to ensuring safety, transparency, and efficiency in the use of these emerging technologies.
The signing of the agreement marks a milestone in the integration of the crypto economy sector with the Public Prosecutor's Office, aiming to strengthen compliance and innovation in Brazil.
