With the rise in online shopping, concerns about the security of digital transactions have also emerged, causing many consumers to be hesitant to make purchases online. According to a Brand Health survey commissioned by ClickBus with Kantar, during the 2024/2025 peak tourism season, for 59% of the company's new customers, the security provided in purchases is the main reason for issuing tickets, in addition to the ease of use of the app and website. Recognized as a "benchmark brand for online purchase of intercity bus tickets ," ClickBus also presented data highlighting convenience, promotions, and a variety of reliable bus companies as key differentiators.
With a significant increase in demand for bus tickets, the sector is becoming increasingly competitive, and therefore, it is necessary to consider ways to improve the user's purchasing experience. For this reason, ClickBus, seeking to maintain its Top of Mind position – with almost 40% brand recall among consumers – has just introduced Google Pay and Apple Pay as the newest payment methods on its app and website , which already offered Pix, Mercado Pago, PayPal, bank transfer, and credit card (with the option to pay in up to 12 installments).
This new feature aims to provide even greater security for consumers at the time of purchase , as the methods offer a payment experience with biometric authentication, ensuring that only the authorized user can complete the transaction, and also tokenization, replacing card data with a unique and temporary code for each purchase, which prevents the sharing of sensitive information with third parties. These processes minimize the risk of fraud and provide an extra layer of protection.
The inclusion of these methods reinforces ClickBus' commitment to ensuring practicality, convenience, ease of payment, and security for its customers. “Ensuring security and practicality have always been priorities for our company, and it is very important for us to develop technology so that travelers feel increasingly confident when buying online. The implementation of Google Pay and Apple Pay further strengthens our commitment to offering a reliable digital environment,” says Fabio Trentini, CTO of ClickBus.
