The company specializes in creating new technologies CodeBit grew 35% this year, exceeding the initial expectation of 24% and the national average. According to the consultancy IDC, the technology market in Brazil should end 2024 with growth of 12%. The good performance of the company happens by launching a new product for Generative Artificial Intelligence and the internationalization of operations, started in 2023. The prospect is to continue the expansion of business with investments of the order of R$ 1.2 million, and the creation of new jobs.
Based in the interior of Sao Paulo, the CodeBit office has more than 70 employees. The idea is to increase the number to 100 by next year. “Our growth is strongly dependent on growth and structuring of teams and people”, highlights CEO Heitor Cunha. “It is extremely risky to predict aggressive growth, as it involves governance, talent retention, organizational control, crop management, among other aspects”, he points out.
Therefore, he explains that the company bets on continuous training for the team. Of the total R$1.2 million invested, R$ 730 thousand were allocated to the area of employee training, equivalent to 5 thousand hours of training.
In Cunha's assessment, expansion without planning can cause unwanted effects. “A very aggressive growth could generate a drop in the quality of deliveries, and this is something we do not give up. Growing always, but with solidity and awareness is more important for people than growing in absolute numbers.”
Look closely at market demands
The result above expected by the company itself and the estimate for the national market reflects the meeting of the growing demands for innovative solutions. The state of AI in early 2024: Gen AI adoption spikes and starts to generate value, 72% of companies have shown interest in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) this year, a high when compared to the 55% registered in 2023.
This year, CodeBit developed the CodeRAG, a solution that seeks to facilitate the implementation of generative AI. From it, it is possible to generate knowledge and critical analysis from a specific base that can be composed of texts, images, audios or videos. Through the knowledge learned, the solution allows you to make analyzes, answer questions and review documents. “se product, although new, has shown great potential and supported the diversification of our” portfolio, highlights Cunha.
Other solutions have also met the growing demand for innovation.“We have experienced significant growth in the CodeCell, a product responsible for assembling hybrid cells for development and management of cloud infrastructure, with teams working together, both from customers and ours. This reduces the risk of governance, as the customer does not become dependent on people, enables a seasonal monitoring of projects and generates a lot of flexibility in costs and accounting”, he informs.
According to Cunha, CloudOps Review (NDO responsible for reviewing cloud architectures on the pillars of security, performance, availability and cost control DO would close the main products responsible for the growth of CodeBit.
The perspective is that new products are developed in parallel with the consolidation of existing ones.“Technology never stops. Launching products is important, as well as maturing them and making them increasingly adherent to needs. The most important thing is not to stop ever, always test new features, strategies and quickly change the course when necessary. We will continue following this strategy.”
New markets
The internationalization of CodeBit operations began in 2023, with the expansion to the United States, a market that has been quite profitable, as shown by different surveys.
Data from LSEG Datastream show that the profitability of the technology sector in the country doubled in 2023 compared to the previous year. Already in 2024, it has been the main responsible for the positive performance of stock indices, as shown by the results of the S&P 500 of the stock exchange.
Winning this market means opening many doors.“The AWS marketplace gives us the ability to serve globally. Customers can hire us as they hire the cloud, which eliminates several bureaucratic barriers”, explains Cunha.
Plans from now on include consolidating internationalization. “In the expansion strategies of the commercial and marketing areas is the possibility of setting up a commercial office to strengthen relationships with potential customers.”
The possibility of insertion in new markets is also a matter for the future.“We do not have a specific focus on other countries, although this possibility is not ruled out.”
