ABcrypto and Acrefi sign agreement to bring cryptoeconomics and financial market closer

The Brazilian Crypto-economics Association (ABcrypto) and the National Association of Credit, Financing and Investment Institutions (Acrefi) announced the signing of a Protocol of Intentions that aims to strengthen collaboration between the traditional and digital financial markets. The agreement focuses on the development and implementation of actions aimed at the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing for Terrorism (PLD/FT), promoting best practices and normative guidelines in these sectors.

The protocol establishes the union of efforts and expertise of both institutions with the objective of engaging their associates in the standardization process in relation to the PLD/FT, in addition to disseminating knowledge through educational and awareness actions. Among the main goals of the agreement is the development of educational materials and the promotion of initiatives that contribute to mitigate risks and prevent fraud in the financial system.

Priscila Maia, Head of Legal & Compliance at Bitybank, and Carolina Correa, Head of Operations at Coinext, both leaders of the ABcripto Compliance Committee, highlighted the relevance of the partnership, stating: “The intent protocol with Acrefi represents an important milestone to further bring the cryptoeconomics sectors and the traditional financial market closer together. The collaboration will allow us to act jointly in the implementation of good practices and in the construction of a more secure and transparent market”.

For Filipe Pena, executive director of Acrefi, the initiative reinforces the commitment of the entity to be at the forefront of innovation in the financial sector. “A approach with ABcripto strengthens our commitment to join forces and expertise between the traditional and digital financial markets, promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Together, we will develop actions that contribute to risk mitigation and fraud prevention and money laundering, topics of extreme importance for the sustainable growth of the” market.

The protocol of intentions also provides for periodic meetings to monitor the progress of initiatives and plan new actions aligned with the defined objectives. This collaboration between institutions aims, above all, to foster transparency and security in an increasingly dynamic and digital scenario, providing a more robust and protected financial environment for all participants.
