Online sales grow 21% in 2025, according to Getnet

Getnet, the global fintech payment method of Santander group, recorded a growth of 21% in online transactions in 2025, compared to the previous year.The result was driven by the increase of 38% in transactions via payment link, a tool used in sales on social networks, messaging applications and email.

In the sector analysis, the highlight was the hotel/housing sector, with a high of 42% in online billing before 2024, followed by the clothing sector, with growth of 39% on the same comparative basis. Other sectors that also stood out in the period were health (+31%), automotive (+27%) and cosmetics (+20%), confirming the diversification of consumption in the digital environment.
 

“In addition to traditional retail, micro and small entrepreneurs are also contributing strongly to the growth of online sales. The trend is signaled by the increase of 38% observed in transactions via payment link, a practical solution that does not require the use of large e-commerce platforms, allowing entrepreneurs of different sizes to sell their products directly through social networks, for example”, says Rafael Barbosa, head of Getnet Strategy.
 

Rafael also notes that e-commerce should grow 17% per year until 2030 in Brazil.“A increasing integration between technology, data and consumer experience point in this direction”, concludes the executive.
