Uber Strengthens Technological Presence in Brazil with New Center in Sao Paulo

Uber announced the expansion of its technological presence in Brazil with the inauguration of a new and modern center in Sao Paulo. This movement consolidates the state capital as the main technology hub of the company in Latin America, with a significant investment that reinforces the commitment of the mobility giant with the country.

A New Innovation Hub in Sao Paulo

The new Uber office, located in the Itaim Bibi neighborhood in Sao Paulo, will occupy 11 floors and will have a total area of 16 thousand square meters. Designed to house up to a thousand professionals, the space will be dedicated to the development of products and solutions that will impact more than 70 countries where the company operates. The structure was planned to integrate teams specialized in engineering, design, product and data science, promoting a collaborative and innovative environment.

Operations at the new center are expected to start in the first quarter of 2027. This space will act as the core of Uber's technical innovation, while the current office, located in Pinheiros, will continue to focus on corporate functions and market operations.

Billionaire Investment and Long-Term Strategy

The opening of this new technology center is part of Uber's long-term strategy for Brazil. With this new contribution, the company's total investment in technology in the country will exceed the R$ 2 billion mark over four financial cycles. This initiative reinforces the announcement made in 2024, which provided for an investment of R$ 1 billion for the expansion of its technology centers in Brazil over five years.

Rafael Pereira, engineering director at Uber in Brazil, highlighted the importance of an integrated environment for collaboration among technical professionals. According to him, the new space will allow solutions developed in Brazil to have a direct impact on the user experience in global markets, accelerating the creation of new features for the application.

Consolidation of Brazil as Global Technology Hub

Currently, the Sao Paulo technology center already has approximately 600 specialists focused on improving Uber's mobility and delivery platforms. The growth of the Paulista operation follows the expansion of the company in other regions of Brazil, such as the announcement of a second technology park in Rio de Janeiro in 2025, with investments in the order of R$ 500 million.

This network of development centers in Brazil positions the country as a strategic supplier of talent and solutions to Uber's global structure. The focus on crucial areas such as data science and software engineering suggests that Brazil will play a key role in the evolution of logistics and artificial intelligence algorithms that manage millions of trips and deliveries daily around the world.
