In Brazil, the Road Freight Transport (TRC) sector has been highlighted as a combatant agent to CO2 emissions. This year, the report prepared by the CNT pointed out that the sector represents approximately 20% of the emission of pollutants from the country, showing an advance when compared to a survey conducted in 2022 by the Luiz de Queiroz Higher School of Agriculture of the University of Sao Paulo (USP), which pointed out that the sector represented about 47% of the total pollutants emitted by the nation.
Given this reality, Ghelere Transportes, with more than four decades of experience in the cargo and logistics sector, has invested more than R$50 million in less polluting fleets, in telemetry technologies to take care of the well-being of the employee, as well as a new sustainable headquarters in Cascavel (PR), which follows international standards of LED certifications (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), one of the most respected seals in sustainable construction; and WELL, which puts the health and well-being of professionals in focus.
“We believe that a healthy and comfortable working environment is essential for the well-being and productivity of our employees, which is why we grow. This concern is reflected in every decision we make during the development of the” project, adds Eduardo Ghelere, executive director of the carrier.
Following these measures adopted throughout the year, the new company headquarters waterproofed its floor by achieving the 60,000 m² of its land, preventing leaks of lubricants, fuels and other practices contaminate the soil. The facility is equipped with Stormtech technology, which is under the ground and performs the capture and redistribution of rainwater through chambers composed of polypropylene and polyethylene 100% virgin with high density, reducing the impacts of the building. “These choices made by Ghelere are intended to reinforce the goal of building and sustainable operation, states Eduardo.
For the next few years, the carrier sets ambitious goals to continue the project, especially in the area of storage for customers in Brazil and Mercosur. The strategic locations in Cascavel, Maringa and Ponta Grossa allow the company to form a logistics triangle that offers agility and excellence throughout Parana. Eduardo points out that the focus on operational efficiency, combined with the use of renewable energy sources, makes the carrier an even more valuable strategic commercial partner.
