Domestic technology gains strength and targets the international market.

Until recently, the Brazilian market for electronic equipment was almost entirely dependent on imported technology. The pandemic exposed this fragility by disrupting the global production of these goods and triggering a domino effect that impacted various sectors—including corporate audio and video.

It was in this scenario that Pedro Retes, director of Wave AV, decided to apply his 15 years of accumulated experience leading the company, his master's degree in electrical engineering, and four international certifications. The objective was clear: to lead the team in the internal development of the products necessary to keep projects moving forward.

“Since my team already has considerable experience, creating new equipment that met the technical demands of the projects was even quick. Within a few months, three product families were developed: a controller that functions as the system's ‘brain’; wall panels for automation interfaces; and a high-performance audio processor, invisible to the user but fundamental for the acoustic treatment of environments,” explains Retes.

The advantages of domestic technology are evident: agility, use of modern frameworks, and strong convergence with IT and web development. “Our product is completely flexible and open. In other markets, you are locked into a single manufacturer. If you want to migrate, you need new courses and certifications. We use more modern frameworks, which even facilitates hiring, broadening the profile of professionals to areas such as web, front-end, and back-end,” he adds.

Today, the solutions developed by Wave already equip institutions such as the Brazilian Navy, Localiza, Abbott, as well as SEBRAE and SESCOOP, combining high technical complexity with simple and efficient operation.

With the domestic market consolidated, the company is preparing for the next step: international expansion. “We are ready to enter mature markets, such as the United States. The planned investment of R$ 10 million over five years reinforces the economic and strategic nature of this move,” concludes Pedro.
