Startup creates “Tinder” for Jobs using AI

In a country where, even with improving indicators, about 6.3 million people are still looking for employment, technological initiatives show they can be the bridge between positive data and real-life change.Finding a job through conventional methods remains, for many Brazilians, a slow, frustrating, and inefficient process. Candidates face queues, paperwork, outdated information, and often don’t even receive feedback on the opportunities they apply for. On the other side, public and private companies also waste time and resources on poorly targeted selections, with a high dropout or incompatibility rate. This disconnect between job seekers and employers has been one of the major obstacles to reducing unemployment in a structured and sustainable way.

The Emprega 360 platform digitized the old SINE (National Employment System) model, which previously operated analogously, with job postings pinned to physical bulletin boards. The result was a revolution in access to the regional labor market and plans for national expansion. “It’s not enough for unemployment to drop on the IBGE chart. For the data to become reality in people’s lives, action is needed at the ground level. And that’s what Emprega 360 delivers: efficiency, engagement, and results, whether for city governments or the private sector,” says Gabriel Machado Lopes, partner at Equity Group. With a logic similar to dating apps, the tool connects companies and candidates based on data and cross-referenced profiles. The technology makes the process faster, reduces hiring time, and exponentially increases effectiveness, without relying on paper posters or long queues at service centers.

The results achieved in the city of Mariana, Minas Gerais, since adopting Emprega 360 are impressive and have caught the attention of governments and companies across the country. In just two years, the city managed to increase the public job placement rate from 23% to 58%, representing a 152% growth. The job-to-hire conversion rate also jumped from 20% to over 65%, consolidating a new efficiency in the local employment process. During this period, 14,000 hires were made through the platform, which also connected over 24,200 candidates to real job opportunities. In total, more than 550 companies joined the digital system, which has surpassed 2.8 million job views, significantly expanding reach and engagement. Additionally, the time between job posting and actual hiring was drastically reduced, promoting a much faster and more effective dynamic for all parties involved.

Equity Group’s goal is to bring Emprega 360 to other city governments, states, and private companies, transforming the labor intermediation model into a fairer, faster, and more efficient system. With the platform, candidates gain visibility and access, while companies reduce hiring time and costs—a two-way street with measurable social impact.
