Start Growth, a venture capital (VC) firm focused on supporting expansion-stage startups, announced the opening of an investment and acceleration call for applications, providing R$10 million for new Brazilian startups. Entrepreneurs from across the country can apply by August 15th to participate in the initiative.
The call for applications is aimed at innovative and high-potential startups in the HRtech, Fintech, Edutech, Database, Martech, Healthtech sectors, as well as early-stage B2B, B2C, B2E, B2B2C, and C2C startups. Start Growth's proposal is to support visionary founders in their growth journey, combining expertise, capital, and experience.
Marilucia Silva Pertile, a mentor for startups and co-founder of Start Growth, highlighted that the call for proposals is open to startups with validated products and initial sales, seeking to scale their businesses. "We want to develop scalable businesses and offer practical support to innovative entrepreneurs," stated Pertile.
To participate, entrepreneurs must complete a form available on the Start Growth website (https://www.startgrowth.com.br/). In the second stage, selected applicants will be invited to present their pitches, which can be done via video call or in person. In the final stage, the chosen applicants will present their business and financial plans to evaluate growth strategies and necessary resources.
Pertile highlighted the importance of candidates detailing the problems their startups solve. "We understand that metrics like MRR, CAC, and LTV might not be fully established. We want to see clear signals that a significant pain point has been identified and that there's a solution to it," she explained. She also emphasized that Start Growth seeks 100% committed teams, with passionate and determined entrepreneurs.
Beyond financial backing, Start Growth provides daily operational support to help the startups it invests in achieve break-even within two years and prepare for further investment rounds within three years. Selected startups will have Start Growth as a partner, participating in the captable and the risks associated with their growth operations.
Among the successful investments made by the VC are companies like PontoMais, VHSYS, Leads2b, Fretefy, and LogSchool. "Our purpose is to continue charting a path to success within the startup ecosystem, analyzing and selecting innovative proposals with growth potential, helping entrepreneurs achieve their desired profitability," concluded Marilucia Silva Pertile.
