Solo Iron, Solo Network's cybersecurity unit, announced a strategic partnership with Akamai to offer the Brazilian market a complete operation of web application protection and APIs, combining global leading technology with managed security services, continuous monitoring and structured incident response.
The partnership aims to combine Solo Iron's expertise in managed security operations with Akamai's technology to deliver a complete risk-oriented web application and API protection solution underpinned by structured processes to the market.
With Akamai, Solo Iron incorporates application protection technologies and APIs into its portfolio that act directly on the mitigation of automated attacks, vulnerability exploitation, logic abuse and denial of service attempts. These features are now operated and contextualized by the Solo Iron team, within a methodology based on recognized frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, CIS, MITRE and NIST SP 800-61.
For Akamai, the regional scenario requires a deeper and more integrated approach. “The region experiences a consistent increase in the sophistication of attacks targeting web applications and APIs. We have observed an increasing volume of attempts to exploit business logic, parameter manipulation and use of bots to map endpoints and test credentials. The technical integration will allow alerts and events blocked by Akamai to be correlated with the Solo Iron SOC, increasing analytical capacity. “Including Akamai to our operation, we have been able to enrich the processes of detection and intelligence of the events that the tool is preventing and connect this to structured incident response processes, based on NIST SP 800-61. This translates into a fast, timely and actionable action against the” attacks, says Guimaraes.
