Betting sites are blocked after court decision; see which ones

Following a decision by the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region, the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) began implementing the blocking of some betting websites.

The ruling responds to a motion for clarification filed by the Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj), which had requested the blocking or suspension of sites “that irregularly exploit fixed-odds betting.”.

In total, Loterj listed 115 companies currently operating in the state of Rio de Janeiro that do not possess the state license to operate betting services.

Aposta Legal tested access to the betting houses

According to the decision, Anatel should verify the operational legitimacy of the companies listed by Loterj and, if negative, take appropriate measures within the limits of the state of Rio de Janeiro.

However, the team of Legal Bet Brazil has already found links to betting houses blocked in other Brazilian states, such as Ceará and Minas Gerais.

Seeking to provide transparent information to its readers, Aposta Legal created a interactive tool which contains the complete listing of all betting houses that may be blocked by Anatel and their current status.

The team is conducting tests with other major betting houses and will update the article as new blockades are identified.
