SHEIN announced in 2025 the expansion of its sustainability initiatives, focusing on environmental and operational governance. The annual evolusHEIN plan includes the modernization of the logistics network and the adoption of global management systems, with emphasis on international certifications, waste reduction, circular logistics and water, sanitation and hygiene standards.
Advances in Environmental and Safety Certifications
Last year, SHEIN took a significant step forward in its operations in China by obtaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications in six of its logistics parks. These audits, conducted by SGS, validate environmental management and occupational health and safety, requiring risk identification, emergency response plans and ongoing training for employees.
Waste Management and Circular Logistics
With regard to waste management, SHEIN has expanded its resource efficiency strategy. Eight new facilities have earned the “Zero Waste to Landfill” seal granted by TUV Rheinland, bringing the total number of units with this certification to 15, including the Innovation Center for Garment Manufacturing (CIGM). Seven other units already certified have renewed the seal. This process evaluates practical procedures and results to avoid sending waste to landfills. Currently, all SHEIN own operation warehouses in China and almost half of the facilities managed by the company in the country meet this standard.
In logistics operations, the company has implemented measures to reduce the use of disposable materials, eliminating about 932 metric tons of single-use waste. Actions include replacing paper boxes with reusable bags for internal handling, optimizing packaging and adhesive tapes, as well as reusing plastic pallets and cargo fastening materials.
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Standards
SHEIN also expanded assessments related to water, sanitation and hygiene. In 2025, the number of sites audited increased from 22 to 29 units in several countries. The analyses followed the WASH4WORK framework, an initiative linked to the UN Global Compact, confirming that the facilities operated by the company comply with the requirements of access to drinking water, adequate sanitation and hygiene supplies.
