The Central Bank revealed on Monday that Pix, the instant payment system, hit a new record of daily transactions last Friday, day 5. According to the institution, a staggering 224.2 million transactions were recorded in just 24 hours, surpassing the previous mark of 206.8 million, reached on June 7 this year.
In addition to the number of transactions, the total amount handled by Pix also reached a historical level for a single day: R$ 119.4 billion. This amount shows the growing adoption and confidence of Brazilians in this payment modality.
In an official statement, the Central Bank highlighted the relevance of Pix as a public digital infrastructure, capable of promoting financial inclusion, fostering innovation and boosting competition in the payment services sector in Brazil.
