Appropriate search platform already detects growth of research requests related to the activities of bookmakers

By publishing one gatehouse establishing a series of new rules for the operation of sports betting and online gaming companies in the country, on July 12, the Secretariat of Awards and Betting, the Ministry of Finance, took the definitive step to consolidate a trend that for some months has been solidifying in the field of legal technology: the increase in investigations on the suitability of organizations involved in the ecosystem of this activity as well as of customers and partners of the so-called Bets. Kronoos, a platform that conducts research in thousands of sources to check the suitability of people and companies, has already registered a growth of 40% in the request for proposals originated by bookmakers and next months prepares for an increase in the increase of new requests.

In practice, the document published by the Secretariat establishes the requirement that institutions promoting betting and gaming classify in a structured way the risk of bettors, employees, partners and third-party service providers. In article 11 of the general provisions, the text states that “O agent operator of betting must forward an annual report to the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets, until February 1 of the following year, with information on good practices adopted in the previous year, in order to meet the provisions on the policies, procedures and controls provided for in this ORDinance”.

For the CEO of Kronoos, Alexandre Pegoraro, some items present in the ordinance make the operation of these bookmakers unfeasible without the use of state-of-the-art technological solutions.“These companies will have to provide detailed reports on the legal and reputational conditions of users of their products and services, as well as other organizations with which they will relate to the operation of their businesses.Humanly, it is impossible to obtain this level of information on such a large volume of individuals and legal persons as is necessary to ensure the operational health of this type of enterprise”, he says.

He cites as an example item II of article 16 of the resolution. The wording of this point states that the qualification procedures should cover measures aimed at verifying the condition of the bettor or user of the platform as a politically exposed person (PEP), family member up to the second degree, representative or close collaborator of a person in this condition, in accordance with the rule edited regarding the Coaf.

“The realization of this type of verification is an extremely technical and complex work. Thus, to comply with this type of obligation, the best way for bets to comply with the law with agility, efficiency and lower investment needs is to count on the partnership of companies developing specialized technology for this. They can do it all in a matter of seconds, with a highly high degree of assertiveness and covering only by the volume of use”, he explains.
