Pix moves more than R$ 1.5 million in delivery apps in Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of last year, about R$ 1.5 million reais was handled, via pix in delivery applications. The data is from an internal survey conducted by Gaudium, a technology startup specialized in mobility and logistics, considering the delivery platforms developed with Machine, its own solution for creating applications in the sector.

The numbers make it clear that the payment method continues to expand strongly, driven by the speed and practicality of the system. “Pix's main advantage is that transactions happen in real time, 24 hours a day, every day of the week, including holidays. This feature is especially convenient in a society where the demand for fast services, such as food deliveries and purchases, is at a high”, comments Vinicius Valle, Marketing Coordinator at Gaudium.

The North region led the use of this payment modality and handled, alone, at least R$ 719 thousand reais, followed by the Midwest regions, which handled R$ 556 thousand, and Northeast, which paid R$ 242 thousand in Pix. In contrast, the Southeast and South regions added R$ 60 thousand in transactions with this method.

Pix has become a popular payment option in Brazil, outperforming alternatives such as credit and debit cards. With these factors at stake, Valle argues that it tends to continue growing in the delivery sector as more consumers embrace the benefits of transactions.

“Delivery platforms still boost the use of Pix, offering promotions, discounts and cashback. This incentive has been effective, and the numbers reinforce the trend in Brazil and consolidate Pix as one of the pillars of our financial transformation”, concludes Valle.
