The Central Bank announced that the Pix Automatic will be launched on June 16, 2025, promising to transform the subscription and recurring payments market in Brazil. The new system will allow automatic charges via Pix, eliminating barriers such as expired credit cards and forgotten tickets, which can boost the conversion rate and customer retention.
According to a study by Chargebee, 45% of recurring companies lose at least five hours per week with manual adjustments of collections. In addition, about 35% of transactions suffer failures, and may reach 70% in some cases. Another relevant indicator is that in the first quarter of 2024, Pix represented 46% of purchases made by merchants of the Cloudemshop platform, surpassing the credit card, which was left with 44% of paid orders. These data reinforce the trend of adherence to Pix as the main means of payment in the market and recurrence of payment in the market.
“We believe that the Pix Automatic will be a game changer for subscription clubs.Unlike traditional automatic debit, it will be more affordable and without bank bureaucracy for membership. This will allow small and medium businesses to implement recurring models with more security and financial predictability, opening new opportunities for companies that want to create subscription models without relying on” cards, he says Luan Gabellini, co-founder of Betalabs Technology and expert in solutions for e-commerce and recurring subscriptions.
