The E-commerce Trends 2025 survey, conducted by Octadesk in partnership with Opinion Box, highlights a marked trend in the digital payments scenario: the wide adoption of PIX.In just over two years of operation, the instant payment method has become extremely popular, with 87% of Brazilians using PIX for their online purchases.
Rodrigo Ricco, Founder and Director of Octadesk, points out that the PIX perfectly meets the demands of modern consumers for agility and efficiency. “For the contemporary consumer, the priority is not only to choose a product and put it in the cart, but to receive it at home as quickly as possible. The PIX accelerates this process, reducing waiting time and anticipating the delivery of value. In other words, it not only expedites payment, but also helps better meet consumer expectations,” explains Ricco.
In addition to PIX, QR Code is also gaining prominence, with 64% of respondents using it for online purchases. Although 34% know QR Code without using it, its growing acceptance suggests a positive trend for payment technologies based on quick response codes.Digital wallets such as PayPal and Apple Pay are known to 50% of consumers, but 44% do not yet use them.
Offering a variety of payment options not only improves the shopping experience, but also directly impacts business retention and growth.“Companies that adapt quickly to new payment technologies are better positioned to win and retain customers, promoting a more efficient and satisfying buying journey,”, said Ricco.
The expert also states that understanding which means of payment are most valued by the public is essential to remain competitive. “Cada consumer has their own preferences and needs, but by adapting to the preferences of their audience, your e-commerce not only demonstrates a commitment to the customer experience, but also increases the chances of loyalty. Facilitating the payment process makes the buying journey more enjoyable and satisfying, which in turn causes customers to return and recommend your company to others,” Rodrigo concludes.
