OLX announces the launch of InculTech, an innovative technological training program created by OLX, with an educational partnership of SoulCode Academy. The first class will be dedicated to people with disabilities (PCDs), bringing real opportunities and employability possibilities.
According to IBGE, the Brazilian population has more than 18 million people living with some type of disability, representing approximately 9% of the country's population.
A survey conducted by Relevo in 2021 revealed that only 1.6% of technology company invitations are for candidates with disabilities. This highlights the urgent need for inclusive initiatives in the technology sector, one of the most promising and constantly growing. Empowering PCDs is not just a way to solve the shortage of professionals in the technology sector. It is about changing lives, offering new perspectives and opening doors through education, creating a more inclusive and fair future for all.
“O Grupo OLX is committed to diversity and inclusion and wants, through this training project, to help transform lives, boost dreams and promote a more egalitarian environment in the area of” technology, says OLX Group Vice President of Human Resources Christiane Berlinck.
Training programs are a way to invest in technical and personal development, enabling people with disabilities to gain new opportunities and boost their careers.
“We want these people to see that they have a place in the world of technology and any other sector they want,” says Carmela Borst, CEO and co-founder of SoulCode Academy. “Enabling PCDs goes beyond filling gaps in the market; it is about generating new perspectives for the future and true inclusion”.
