October marks Micro and Small Business Month (MPEs), which represent over 90% of formal businesses in Brazil (Business Map, Federal Government) and play a fundamental role in job creation and economic activity. As the year draws to a close, entrepreneurs are turning their attention to the challenges and opportunities of 2026—a period expected to be marked by the consolidation of digital transformation and the pursuit of greater efficiency and competitiveness.
“The Brazilian entrepreneur is resilient by nature, but 2026 will demand more: strategic vision and the ability to adapt to technology. Micro and small businesses need to organize themselves now, while there is still time to prepare and compete,” says Reginaldo Stocco, CEO of vhsys, a technology company focused on managing small and medium-sized businesses.
Below, Reginaldo lists five trends that are set to guide the growth of MPEs in the coming year.
- The first of these trends is the complete digitization of management, which is no longer a differentiator and is becoming a basic requirement for business survival. Integrated systems that combine finance, sales, inventory, and invoice issuance will become increasingly indispensable.
- Next is the use of data for decision-making, with reports and indicators becoming strategic allies for understanding business performance and customer behavior.
- Another important point is attention to new tax obligations and digital compliance. With the advancement of government systems, updating and complying with tax requirements will demand greater attention and appropriate tools.
- A Integration with payment methods is also set to gain momentum, simplifying financial routines and reducing operational costs.
- Finally, a The adoption of artificial intelligence and automation tools is expected to transform the daily operations of small businesses, optimizing everything from customer service to pricing.
“MPEs are at the heart of the Brazilian economy. Supporting their digitization and making them more competitive is essential not only for entrepreneurs but for the entire business ecosystem,” Stocco emphasizes.
