More than 70% of companies already use Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been rapidly advancing on the global stage, and the job market is no exception to this transformation. Currently, 72% of companies worldwide use some form of AI in their activities, marking a continuous expansion over the past six years.

This is revealed by the McKinsey survey, titled “The state of AI in early 2024: Gen AI adoption spikes and starts to generate value”. Compared to 2023, when 55% of companies were already applying AI, this growth demonstrates the speed of adoption and the trend of continuity in the coming years.

Expansion of AI in companies

The pursuit of greater productivity and efficiency is fueling a global race for AI implementation. Generative models, for instance, are already present in 65% of companies, compared to 33% the previous year.

According to the report, since 2019 at least half of global companies have been using some form of artificial intelligence. Among the main benefits cited are cost reduction and increased profits, especially in sectors such as sales and marketing.

Given these impacts, 65% of companies plan to increase investments in AI in the coming years. Microsoft, for example, is developing a project that could exceed R$ 500 billion. In Brazil, the technology is also advancing, with 75% of small and medium-sized enterprises already incorporating AI into their daily operations, according to Zoox Smart Data.

However, the McKinsey study also points out challenges. Concerns about intellectual property violations, lack of accuracy in some applications, and the potential impact on human labor replacement remain on the agenda.

Industry 5.0: technology and creativity side by side

Advances in artificial intelligence represent a significant part of the new technological phase in productive activities. Industry 5.0, according to information from the portal A Voz da Indústria, proposes a more collaborative and people-centric model, where technology and creativity go hand in hand.

Unlike the 4.0 generation, this new era bets on cooperation between humans and intelligent systems. AI takes over repetitive and analytical tasks, freeing up professionals to dedicate themselves to activities of higher creative and strategic value.

Practical applications already reach sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and agriculture. In smart factories, for example, collaborative robots work alongside operators, learning from human behavior and optimizing production in real time.

Among the distinguishing features of Industry 5.0 are product customization, the use of predictive data, and the integration of sustainable technologies. The goal is to combine innovation with environmental responsibility.

Despite the advances, challenges remain: it is necessary to invest in digital infrastructure, update processes, and qualify the workforce. Furthermore, debates on ethics, privacy, and the role of humans in the face of automation also remain relevant.

Even so, Industry 5.0 is advancing rapidly, paving the way for smarter and more future-oriented production.
