After receiving over 20,000 applications and conducting a rigorous two-month selection process, Magalu has selected the 13 professionals who will form its first Artificial Intelligence trainee class. The selected candidates have backgrounds in various engineering fields, as well as mathematics and technology. The program, starting on February 2nd, is directly linked to the company's new strategic cycle, which will have so-called AI commerce—the use of artificial intelligence end-to-end in the consumer purchasing journey—as one of its main pillars.
“We selected talents graduated from the country's best institutions, who will undergo intensive and immersive training in LLMs, AI, and machine learning while rotating through various company areas,” says Patricia Pugas, Magalu's Executive Director of People Management. “The idea is for this team to be a multiplier of knowledge and enthusiasm for AI's possibilities across the entire organization.”
In addition to hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of Magalu's various business areas, participants will have access to customized content from Alura, Magalu's partner in developing technology knowledge pathways. Professionals who graduated between December 2022 and December 2025 in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses, not necessarily technology-related, were eligible to apply.
