iFood opens registrations to invest R$$10 million in improvements for delivery drivers

Applications are open for the second edition of iFood Chega Junto, a program that encourages initiatives aimed at promoting improvements in the living and working conditions of delivery people and their communities. With an investment of R$10 million – ten times the amount invested in the previous edition – the initiative will allocate resources to proposals aligned with six strategic pillars: road safety, food security, education, health, income strengthening, and circularity.

The program aims to support around 100 projects over the next two years, with the goal of strengthening the work of the more than 400,000 delivery people active monthly on the platform. Delivery people, delivery worker collectives, social businesses, and civil society organizations with proposals that promote concrete and structural improvements, with the potential to generate lasting impact for delivery people and their communities, can participate.

“Our goal is to broaden the impact generated by delivery people and the organizations that walk alongside them. This edition was designed to support projects with the potential for real transformation, whether in access to education, traffic safety, income strengthening, health promotion, or other fronts aligned with the program’s pillars. We want to invest in initiatives that leave a positive and lasting legacy for those who live by delivery, their families, and the communities around them,” says Luana Ozemela, Vice President of Impact and Sustainability at iFood.

iFood Chega Junto was launched in 2023 as part of the company's commitment to social solutions and the strengthening of the delivery community. In the first edition, R$$ 1 million was invested in 25 projects selected from over 500 proposals, directly impacting more than 11,000 people. The first edition contributed to the redesign of this second call, with more resources, an expanded scope, and a focus on structural initiatives.

The selection of the projects for this second edition of Chega Junto will be conducted by an external committee of experts from different institutions and areas of social impact, with the support of the consultancy Semente Negócios, responsible for the entire process of application, selection, and monitoring of the initiatives. Among the possible formats are workshops, events, technological platforms, applications, webinars, among others, always focusing on the well-being of the delivery people and their communities.
