Havan warns of new scam created with Artificial Intelligence on social networks

Havan warns the population about a new scam circulating on social networks and that has generated hundreds of complaints in the first days of June alone.Criminals are using the image of businessman Luciano Hang and the 39 years of the retailer to apply fraud.

The scam offers a supposed promotion of security cameras, in the “ modelbuy one and take another”. To make the scam more convincing, scammers use Artificial Intelligence to clone Luciano Hang's voice and generate fake videos.

However, there are clear signs that it is a scam. One of them is that in the audio, the word Havan is pronounced incorrectly as “Ravan”. In addition, the voice does not match that of the entrepreneur and the movement of the mouth in the videos does not synchronize with what is being said.

The businessman points out that, unfortunately, this type of crime has become increasingly sophisticated with the use of Artificial Intelligence. “We have adopted all the appropriate legal measures and we have already obtained judicial decisions against platforms such as Google and Meta for the removal of false content. Even so, scams continue to emerge, requiring constant attention from the” population, he reinforces.
