Wine Group invests R$ 18 million in the launch of its first wine project in Brazil, in partnership with Miolo Group

The richness of Brazilian culture and the possibilities that the soil and climate in Brazil offer for the production of wines result in a unique essence with potential for growth of national wine Wine Group, the number 1 wine group in Brazil and leader in the import ranking, saw the possibility of adding another universe: the deep knowledge of the Brazilian consumer.

That is how A is born “Entre Two Worlds”, a pwine Rimeira Wine Group, with exclusive distribution by Cantu Wine Group, the house of big brands, which it reaches the points of sale from July 22. The amount invested in the project was R$18 million, between commodity costs, new production technologies, product development and marketing.

The production of wines by the company is the strategy of the Wine Group to expand its growth in 2024. In May this year, the company launched the Metropolitano line, with wines produced in Chile. For the project of the winery Entre Dois Mundos the company joined Miolo, with all its expertise, sophistication and tradition, and also high agricultural and productive capacity in Brazilian soil. A strong partnership that unites, once again, two worlds.

The brand Entre Dois Mundos now plays a strategic role in the portfolio of Cantu Wine Group, which has more than 20 years of experience in the world of wine and represents exclusively in Brazil a select group of 40 brands from various countries, including Susana Balbo, Ramon Bilbao, Yellow Tail and Albert Bichot. Entre Dois Mundos marks the first Brazilian wine and sparkling wine in the Cantu Wine Group portfolio. There are two lines: Wonderful, sparkling, and Kaipu, wines, which add up to seven labels, two different production sites and a mix of wines that allows the consumer to enjoy different experiences and harmonizations, from lunch to dinner, from the beach to the pool with friends, from feijoada to barbecue.

On one hand, the Maravi line presents three festive sparkling wines Brut, Brut Rose and Moscatel SO elaborated at the Terranova Winery, by Miolo, located in the exuberant San Francisco Valley, in Bahia. The sparkling wines transmit the vibrant energy and the unique terroir of this tropical region.

The Kaipu line is composed of four wines (chardonnay), rose, cabernet sauvignon and tannat. Produced at Almaden Winery in Santana do Livramento, in the region of the Gaucha Campaign, Rio Grande do Sul, these wines are the result of a careful selection of grapes, grown in a soil that is as rich and complex as the history and culture they represent. All pass through barrel, a differential in the Brazilian market for cost-effective wines, which adds to the final consumer experience.

Entre Dois Mundos labels can be found in more than 15,000 points of sale in which Cantu Grupo Wine operates, throughout the country, including supermarkets, wineries and restaurants. To complement the capillarity and ensure easy access, the products will also be available in the e-commerce wine.com.br and in the 17 physical Wine stores throughout Brazil.

For the first phase of distribution during the launch, the Brazilian will have access to more than 233 thousand bottles of Kaipu that includes the 2023 and 2024 harvest, which is already in production. Already the Maravi line, promises more than 200 thousand bottles of sparkling wines that will be distributed in the coming months.

The launch of Entre Dois Mundos follows the work of the Wine Group in recent years to democratize the world of wine and make it increasingly hyper available in the lives of Brazilians, offering access to a diverse portfolio and in a practical way. In addition to high quality products, the new winery will also have an affordable cost. The suggested price for sale will be R$60.00 for the Maravi sparkling wines and R$45.00 for Kaipu wines.

“With Entre Dois Mundos, we operate with an international vision in the elaboration of Brazilian products, allowing us to compete not only with Brazilian wines, but also with products from other countries. The Wine Group accumulates a deep knowledge of the Brazilian consumer, with a catalog of more than 1 million customer reviews that allow us to take this step in a well-grounded way. We wanted to add and contribute to the development of national production, starting from a consumer logic to the” center, he says German Garfinkel, VP Corporate Wine Group.

In search of perfect production

The choice of the best production sites involved extensive research and travel, which began in 2021 with a Wine Group expedition led by German and Alberto Pedrajo Perez, Winemaker and WineHunter of the Wine Group. the Spanish Alberto Pedrajo has produced wines in several countries, having deep knowledge of the different specificities according to the climate, soil and production culture. In addition, he has collaborated with more than 80 wineries in several renowned international wine regions.

“We visited several cities and vineyards, analyzing the Brazilian wine panorama. Brazil has unique characteristics, with its own challenges, from the climate and soil type to the chain producing graphic items, metals and glasses for labels and packaging. With this launch, the Wine Group and Cantu Wine Group seek to create a bridge between the old and the new world of wine, between established wine traditions and innovative approaches that respect and value the Brazilian terroir. This project is a tribute to the diversity and the ability of Brazil to produce wines that are up to the best in the world”, says Pedrajo.

The entire area in which the production structure of Entre Dois Mundos is installed is Miolo and the collaboration of Alberto Pedrajo Perez ensures that the team of the two wineries is constantly oriented to ensure the quality and the expected wine profile.

“With the co-creation of the Kaipu and Maravi lines, together with the Wine Group, we take another step of innovation in our history of passion for the fascinating world of wine. With more than 1,000 hectares planted, Miolo is the largest owner of fine grape vineyards in Brazil and is the largest exporter of wines in Brazil” Adriano Miolo, superintendent director of Miolo.

Sustainability in vineyards

The winery Entre Dois Mundos adopts, since its first production, precision viticulture practices to ensure the sustainability and quality of its vineyards. A mapping and stratification of the soils are made, aiming at the use of fertilizers and correctives adjusted to the needs of each plot of land. In addition, twice a year soil analyzes are performed in the region in order to correct their nutrients.

It is worth mentioning that chemical fertilization is partially replaced by organic fertilization, produced from the waste of winemaking, and natural phosphates are used in the implantation of new vineyards. Thus, grape production reuses materials and implements alternative cultivation, such as legumes in summer and cover plants in winter, to restructure the soil and recycle nutrients. The native vegetation between the rows of the vineyard is preserved, helping to contain erosion, recycle nutrients and fix nitrogen naturally.

In addition, sustainable practices are strictly followed by the vineyard team, which use only registered phytosanitary and biological products for pest and disease control, reducing the use of chemical molecules. Continuous monitoring of residues is done to control the maximum limits.

The winery is also dedicated to heritage conservation, such as Paleo Toca do Tigre, and is building an artesian well to monitor the water quality of the Guarani Aquifer. More than 30% of the vineyard area is maintained as a Permanent Preservation Area (APP), where more than 30 species of animals native to the Pampa biome have been cataloged.

“Between Two Worlds is not just a name, it is our philosophy. It is our way of producing wine, with a lot of passion, dedication and innovation. We unite Brazilian culture and the world culture of wine. We unite market knowledge and very high quality of production. We unite the availability of the market to receive high quality products and our ability to make and distribute throughout the country. The interface of some worlds is present in the bottles of Kaipu and Maravi and this is something that buyers and consumers will taste and toast”, concludes German.
