Gedanken announces platform to help companies measure ESG performance

Specialized in technology for supplier risk management, the Gedanken announced a platform to help companies measure ESG performance. The startup's goal is to tackle this one of the main sustainability challenges in the market, as more than 90% of large companies' carbon emissions originate in supply chains, according to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) report.

Emissions, classified as scope 3, include business operations from sources that are not owned or controlled directly by the organization, such as the supply chain, transportation, use or disposal of products. Therefore, Gedanken has created a unified platform that evaluates, measures and helps the entire supply chain to have more sustainable processes

With more than 200 clients, including names such as Ambev, MRV and Gerdau, Gedanken developed the platform from a deep understanding of the needs of large companies, with active consultation and collaboration of consultants, the Academy and these same large companies. The result is a unified platform that evaluates the sustainability of suppliers through more than 80 specific indicators, grouped into four pillars: care with environment, governance, social responsibility and impact of sustainable procurement. Each pillar is based on reference methodologies, constantly improved through Councils with the participation of companies, academic institutions and partners.

With revenues of R$ 10 million in 2023, (in off) the startup plans to double this amount in 2024, in addition, it also assists companies in the process of supplier onboarding, risk management, homologation and due diligence, contributing to reduce by up to 90% the integration time of new commercial partners and mitigating the risks of slave labor, child labor, integrity, occupational and reputation. These achievements reflect in rapid growth and impact on the market, driven by the round of investment capture held in 2021, led by Caravela and Abseed.
