According to a survey by Ticket, Edenred Brasil's meal voucher and food voucher brand, the average consumer spend on food delivery is R$121,000 higher than what they spend on restaurant meals. While between January and May of this year, the average bill per meal ordered at home was R$1,000,000, the average spend at restaurants was R$1,000,000.
The brand's benefits and engagement study also found a difference between the most consumed cuisines in the two modalities. While in online orders, the preference is for fast food, followed by Brazilian food and snack bars, in direct consumption in establishments, Brazilian food is the most consumed, with bakeries and snack bars coming next on people's list of preferences.
Regarding the highest cost per order, seafood (R$ 87.77) stands out for delivery. At physical restaurants, the most expensive average was found for Japanese food (R$ 104.68). Among the lowest averages, Minas Gerais cuisine takes the lead for delivery (R$ 49.54), while in-person delivery takes the top spot for bakery cuisine (R$ 29.89).
