E-commerce is experiencing a new cycle of transformation with the growing adoption of cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. According to the 2025 Cryptocurrency Adoption and Consumer Sentiment Report, 27% of online sellers in the United States and 42% in India already offer this alternative to customers, a move that signals a global trend also in Brazil.
In addition to lower transaction fees — on average below 1%, compared to 2% to 4% charged by credit cards — blockchain technology eliminates the risk of fraudulent chargebacks. “Crypto transactions are irreversible and secure, offering peace of mind to the merchant and expanding their reach to consumers from any country, without exchange rate barriers or banking restrictions,” highlights Ricardo Dantas, CEO of Foxbit.
