December generates over R$1,200,000,000 in delivery app orders

One of the biggest opportunities for delivery companies is capitalizing on the sales peak during holidays. Between December 1st and 31st, 2024 alone, over R$1.42 trillion (Brazilian Reais) were transacted on platforms using Machine, Gaudium's solution for app creation in the sector — a 501% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Of the R$20 million, R$7.8 million were in the Southeast region alone. Next comes the Midwest region, with R$6 million in orders; the South region, with R$3 million; and the Northeast and North regions, with R$2.1 million and R$1.8 million, respectively.

São Paulo state took the lead in the ranking, with over 480,000 completed orders by New Year's Eve, leading to total sales of R$6.3 million.

While the segment processes around 210 million orders per month, according to the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel), encompassing meals, clothing, medicine, and electronics, seasonal dates see an increase in demand for themed meals, party combos, and beverages. This behavior reveals a strategic opportunity for companies to invest in promotional actions and further boost sales during this period.

"In addition to monitoring consumption trends during holidays, it's important to invest in technology and prepare the business for seasonal dates. Predictive analysis, based on data generated by the business itself, is one of the best resources for predicting demand and optimizing operations," suggests Vinícius Valle, Marketing Coordinator at Gaudium.

Platforms like Machine simplify last-mile logistics operations for small and medium-sized enterprises. Gaudium is one of the most influential companies in the Brazilian mobility sector, registering more than 100 million rides and deliveries annually performed by its clients, generating an annual revenue of R$1.6 billion.
