240% sales growth reinforces partnership between companies in pharmaceutical e-commerce

Pharmacies App, a marketplace that connects consumers to perfumeries, pharmacies and independent and regional drugstores in an innovative and comprehensive way, celebrates the expressive results of a strategic partnership with Danone, which started about a year ago.

The collaboration has yielded in the last 12 months a growth of 240% in sales of specialized nutrition products on the platform, boosting Danone's infant and adult nutritional supplement brands such as Aptanutri, Fortini, Nutridrink, Souvenaid, among others. This success was leveraged by a robust digital strategy, including seasonal promotions, discount coupon campaigns and highly segmented communication, reinforcing the position of the app Pharmacies as an essential channel in pharmaceutical e-commerce.

The Brazilian pharmaceutical sector has shown consistent growth in recent years. according to The 2023 Pharmaceutical Market Statistical Yearbook, published by the Drug Market Regulation Chamber (CMED), the pharmaceutical market achieved a revenue of approximately R$ 142.43 billion in 2023, representing a nominal growth of 8.53% compared to 2022. In addition, 5.77 billion packages were sold, an increase of 1.03% compared to the previous year.

This expectation reinforces the role of Pharmacies App, which offers a diversified portfolio accessible to an even larger audience than regional and/or independent pharmacies. The marketplace's differential lies in its wide reach, which allows large brands to connect directly with consumers from different regions of the country.

According to Lívia Magalhães, E-commerce manager at Danone Brasil, the bet on the marketplace has been fundamental to expand the brand's presence in high recurrence categories. In a sector that moved R$ 6.4 billion in the first half of this year alone, a partnership demonstrates how innovation and digitization can transform the relationship with the consumer and foster continuous growth.

A Successful Partnership

The marketing manager of the CGROCUsC digital channels, Henrique Mazza, recalls that the partnership has already achieved a growth of more than 200% in 2024, showing significant growth and a constant improvement of the commercial approach. “Danone's portfolio of the platform includes iconic products such as Aptutri, Fortini, Nutridrink, Neocate and Yopro, which add value to the Farma channel, strengthening the relationship with consumers through nutrition solutions”, he emphasizes.

The Danone executive claims that Farmácias App is a strategic channel for Danone, especially for allowing clear and effective communication with the target audience. “Our goal is to make the consumer understand the complete nutrition journey, from early childhood to adult supplementation. The partnership with Pharmacies App was essential for us to achieve this goal, because every month we activate the channel with specific campaigns for each audience”, he says.

With a year of consolidated partnership, Danone and Pharmacies Apps plan to further expand their joint actions. The company envisions the opportunity to explore new activation strategies in the application, strengthening communication through different channels. The idea is to create a digital ecosystem that optimizes the consumer's shopping experience and increases brand loyalty.
